Target Group of Vasundhara

Vasundhara Sanvardhan Seva Sanstha primarily works with vulnerable and underserved rural & urban communities in Maharashtra. Our programs are designed to benefit those who are most affected by environmental degradation, water scarcity, low agricultural productivity, and limited access to health and livelihood opportunities.

Primary Target Groups:

  • Small and Marginal Farmers: Farmers with small landholdings who depend on rain-fed agriculture and face challenges of drought, soil degradation, and low income. We support them through sustainable farming, water conservation, and organic practices.
  • Farm Women and Self-Help Groups (SHGs): Rural women involved in agriculture and allied activities. Special emphasis on women empowerment, skill development, nutrition awareness, and formation of SHGs for economic independence.
  • Rural & Urban Youth: Young men and women seeking better livelihood opportunities. We provide skill training, personality development, and programs to reduce migration by creating local opportunities in agriculture, environment, and entrepreneurship.
  • Children and Students: School-going children in rural areas, especially through environmental education, tree plantation drives, and awareness programs on nature conservation and health.
  • Marginalized and Vulnerable Families: Economically weaker sections, landless laborers, scheduled castes/tribes, and other backward communities facing social and economic challenges.
  • Migrant Workers and Their Families: Families affected by seasonal migration due to lack of local livelihoods. We work on bridging rural-urban linkages and providing support for skill enhancement.
  • Entire Village Communities: Gram Panchayats, villagers, and local institutions involved in collective actions for water conservation, disaster preparedness, and village development.

Special Focus Areas:

  • Women and Girls — For health, nutrition, and empowerment programs.
  • Farmers in Drought-Prone Areas — For water and agriculture-related interventions.
  • Environmentally Sensitive Groups — Communities living near degraded lands, where tree plantation and nature conservation can bring direct benefits.
